Our guesthouse is located in Playa Avellanas, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Playa Avellanas is a small community, located on a world-renowned surfing beach. There are five surfing breaks including La Purruja, El Parqueo, El Palo, El Estero and of course, the most well known, Little Hawaii. People travel from all over the world to surf  and body board in our little paradise. 

Playa Avellanas offers several small restaurants and bars, including  Il Rustico, Barumi’s, Soul Shine, the famous Lola’s, La Purruja, Las Olas across the street, and Cactus down the road, but it is a much more rural setting than some of the other towns nearby. Our home is the perfect setting for tranquil sunsets and sunrises, long walks along the pristine beach, and reading in our gardens, while listening to the sounds of the jungle.  We have a small library full of books and games that you are welcome to use during your stay. 

Tamarindo is a 30 minute drive, where the bars, restaurants, shopping and tourist activities are plentiful.

Liberia’s airport is located one and a half hours away, where there are plenty of rental car companies, a bus terminal offering buses daily to Tamarindo, as well as airport shuttles.
